Hannah and Greg are Married! Mediterranean Villa, Arlington Texas Wedding Photographer

The other day my niece asked me “if you had to describe me in one word what would it be?” Well after some thought I chose precocious, because she is unusually bright but also can be quite bold and sassy as well. And I realized that her question is something I wonder sometimes, when I leave a wedding and someone asks me how it was I usually have a plethora of words to describe it, none of which I feel fully capture the beauty of the day. So, I wondered if I had to describe Hannah and Greg’s wedding in one word what would be? And I knew it rather quickly actually….it glowed. Really everything about the day was golden and happy and glowing; the guests, the sun, the beautiful golden toned reception, the couple. It was like for that day the sun shined a little brighter, everyone smiled a little bigger, and if you were there you couldn’t help but feel like you were glowing a little bit yourself. That’s what marriage should be like I think, being together should make you glow a little brighter than when you are apart.

Jamie and Mark- Westshore Yacht Club: The Bay Club Tampa Wedding Photographer

There is something that I have found after working with so many couples that is typically a common factor between them all, they are usually opposites in some way, and I think it really helps make relationships work. It helps provide a balance and you can truly help make on another better because they are each bringing something unique into the relationship. Jamie and Mark are definitely one of these couples, Jamie is bubbly and outgoing and Mark is quiet and thoughtful. My feeling is that Jamie helps Mark color outside the lines sometimes and he keeps her feet on the ground when need be, they balance each other and it’s beautiful. Their wedding day was full of fun and dancing and laughing. It was impossible to attend this wedding and not enjoy yourself, dance a little, sing a little, laugh a lot. I have a feeling that these two are going to be laughing together for years and years to come.

Lauren and Kevin are Married!

I’ve known Lauren and Kevin for a little while now, before they were planning a wedding, before she was picking a white dress and before they were choosing the perfect location to say “I do”. Even before they were planning to take the big leap it was so clear that they would, that they already had in their hearts. When I would hang out with them they were always laughing together, happy just being in each-others company. And every time I would see Kevin if Lauren wasn’t around and I asked how she was his eyes would instantly light up, a smile would spread across his face and it was like just thinking of her gave him such joy. He was never one of those guys who complained about how his girlfriend was nagging him about something or complained about how she shopped too much or just didn’t understand his “guy time”, no he always had nothing but beautiful things to say about her. That is probably partially because Lauren is indeed that awesome, but also because Kevin sees in her only the best things and she in him. I think that’s a beautiful thing and the stuff that lasting relationships are made of, not focusing on the negative in one another, but seeing the best. Lauren and Kev said “I do” at the beautiful Marie Selby Botanical Gardens under a banyan tree that has been there for over 80 years. I think there is something beautiful about vowing to be with one another forever next to a tree that has been strong in spite of wind and storms and rains. This is a tree where you can actually see it’s roots, what gives it it’s strength, and be reminded that strong roots in a relationship, a strong foundation, can get you through life’s storms.
