So I’m spazzing out a little. I really like Christmas…in a “I think October seems like a perfectly reasonable time to get a Christmas tree, any music other than Christmas music should not exist between November-January, no amount of Christmas lights can be obnoxious, and every drink should have egg nog in it” kind of way. While I was with my nieces this past weekend every time we would pass a house with lights on it I’d be all “oh look girls!!! lights!!!” I swear, there would be like two strands of lights and I’m stopping traffic. I always feel a litte disappointed after Christmas though, like I didn’t quite get enough of the Christmas spirit. I swear I have Christmas postpartum…actually I think that’s impossible but I get it anyway. So in preparation this year I have a real tree so I can see AND smell Christmas, icicle lights hanging up…inside of course (cause I’m classy like that) and Christmas music playing on pandora… at this very moment. I’m even editing people’s Christmas photo’s… oh I need to go grab some egg nog and a Christmas sweater pronto…

The guys are in the living room watching football, the girls have been sitting in the kitchen watching funny videos on youtube, and we are all in a turkey coma. Today my family all gathered around the table and the first thing we did was give thanks. I passed out “thankful sheets” with snowflake borders so everyone with a pen followed by my mothers instructions of simply “write down what you are thankful for.” Soon after I had a hand full of folded paper filled with love and thanksgiving written on them. Before we ate we each read our list and we all had a smile on our face and full hearts knowing that we all loved and were loved fully, and that we are all beyond blessed.
That my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever. Psalm 34:1
Now…pie… I think I’m going to start with the one on the left and work my way over. :)
